I used this at a customers house to cut roots where i was digging a hole to
Put in a cage trap where coons were digging under a Mobil home.
It worked so darn good I need to buy one for whacking roots.
I’ve used spades, sharp shovels, hatches and exes and this takes the
Cake for small to medium sized roots.

Thats a sandvik brush axe-bushwhackers best friend.Cut miles of trail and brush on the RR row with those.
Great to have for beaver trapping for cuttin tag alders. Can swing it all day and not get tired.

New?lol, theyve only been around for 50 years or so,lol.
Sounds like a fair price if its a sandvik and not a knock off.
Pick up a couple spare blades for it,they are easy to change out in the field and you can sharpen them up at home with a file,or you can touch them up when they are on the brush hook.

I could see where that would work good for brush cutting, but may I suggest one of these for what NE wildlife's application was...
I have one exactly like this

https://www.walmart.com/ip/2-1-2Lb-Fbg-Cut-Mattock/39109745

and a heavier one from a different manufacturer. This lighter one works just as well and you can swing it longer for big jobs.
Works good for removing prickly ash stubs and roots after cutting along with all sorts of other digging and root removal.
