I've bought parts for older outboards from crowley marine onlline. Last year, I bought a pair of carburetors on Ebay. They were used off of a junk motor but they cleaned up nice and worked fine.

Cotton,

Try this place in Shakopee, MN. http://www.twincityoutboard.com

You have to know what parts you need and the serial number of your motor.

They'll ship and have parts for almost everything imaginable. They also buy old, obsolete outboards for parts. Needed a wiring harness for an old ELCO...... No problem

Good luck!

Cotton, at www.iboats.com you not only have bout 10,000 mechanics to help ya, but 200k owners as well.
I found sources for parts for my '41 Johnson 2.5 hp and a '58 18hp Evinrude there, too.

Anybody ever sell outboard parts? I've thought about buying junk outboards and parting them out on ebay or some other place. I just don't want to hold a huge amount of parts hoping somebody comes along to buy something once a month. If parts move, I might consider it.

consider the cost of a new one in the equation. at least with the old ones you are not dealing with some junk moulded part the breaks when under stress.
