Got kicked out

Of autozone for not wearing a mask.
I was shopping for a few bolts and nuts they said I needed a mask. So I put my shirt over my face and kept looking for the parts. A manager starts yelling at me says to put on a mask I say I have my face covered and it's no different than a Bandana or anything else that isn't rated for infectious diseases. He got hot and started screaming it's the law it's the law get out now! On my way out I said a few things about this law I can't say on tman.

As I was getting into the truck a guy without a mask is entering I told him what happened and I can't post his reaction but it was similar to mine.

I went to a home center, tons of people not wearing masks and they had the nuts and bolts I needed for the truck which autozone didn't. Plus I got a few other things

Is it a law? Did your state legislature pass one that states a "mask" is necessary to enter a store?

People are getting crazy .... I try to stay away from the world out there as much as I possibly can ... even more so these days.

Remember back when people entering a store wearing a mask were seen as the criminals?

I just tell them I can't wear a mask due to asthma and have not had a problem yet.

With your health issues, you can say you can't wear a mask and the ADA says you can't be questioned about it.

3togo, apparently the governor issued this law this week which went into effect today. Masks are to be worn in public except while exercising. Isn't walking considered exercising?

What's the difference wearing a bandana or a shirt as a mask? If any garment slowed the spread than women in Muslim countries wouldn't be dying from corona virus. Iran has over 7000 deaths with over 100k confirmed cases.

Trespass is a real law. If told to leave and you refuse you can be ticketed or even arrested for trespass. Regulatory board may be threatening to pull license if the mask thing is ignored. If that store is corporate and not private they may be under a lot of pressure to comply.

Just keep a mask in the truck. If they require a mask, I’ll wear one. If they don’t then I won’t. Companies rules so I’ll follow them. Same if someone comes to my house, follow my rules or get out. Pretty sure it’s been this way for the last 200+ years. Nothing new, just different rules.

I had no problem and respected a businesses decision to have a rule but being forced by the state to wear something and being yelled at by a manager of a national store is bs. I complied and covered my face once I was asked. But it wasn't good enough. Other businesses I visited (local and national) today had no problem with people using their shirts or not wearing a mask.

Our governor is nuts and a hypocrite.

Maybe getting kicked out will teach you something(though I doubt it). This virus is taken seriously by many people. If wearing a mask is that big an intrusion on your rights,so be it,stay out of places that require it.

What's it going to teach me? How to be a sheep? I ain't no sheep. I take it serious but I know nothing but proper infectious disease rated ppe isn't going to help. As I stated if ANY material is supposed to help than Muslim women would not be getting it and dying. Bacteria can enter through many areas of the body including the eyes wounds scratches, feet etc...
For the record I've lost 6 relatives and 100+ have tested positive, so yes I do take it serious. Our bodies aren't created for these "it's for your safety" nonsense. Practice great hygiene and you reduce the risk much more. Everyday more stories are on the news of people passing out or worse while wearing these improper face masks.
The entire state requires it for anywhere except for exercising and health conditions. I ain't moving out of state anytime soon. Walking is classified as exercise.

I would guess it's an executive order, governor's can't make laws, only enforce. Either way, the whole thing is getting to be a real PITA.

Just last week our governor says she's not going to mandate a "mask" because it won't help. Then this week she makes a law requiring a mask to help. She and her staff get frequent haircuts but the general public can't?

Masks are a joke for covid. We had a specialist come out and fit our ambulance crew for the N95s. Not one person passed. Then she informed us they were not for covid anyway so no idea why she was there to fit us. I do know none of our crews are wearing them. Nurses either. I did figure something out today though...the virus is dormant on the weekends. I was in town on Friday and Canadian Tire was only letting a few people in the store at a time, so if you wanted in you had to stand outside for a long time. I didnt want in that bad. Well back in town today and it was a free for all. The store was packed. Busiest Ive ever seen it actually, no lines to get in, just walk in like normal. Only reason I can think of is that the virus must not effect people on Saturday.....

For all of those complaining about the regulations, my experience today are my half wit neighbors. Their grandfather and grandmother just tested positive for coronavirus. She watches the 3 grandkids, so they have been exposed, as has the father. So what did we see at suppertime, but them roaring by on their ATV's. People who have the virus or are exposed to it, hear those complaining that do not have the virus, and think they do not have to follow the rules either.
Enjoy the country being opened up, as the cases will rise, and these Darwins will be giving you the virus, as it has been shunted and now the policy is to increase exposure for another wave.

3 months ago people walking into a store with a scarf wrapped around their face dark sun glasses and a stocking cap on coat way to warm for the day , I was figuring the store was about to get robbed. then I realized they were just sick and gave them lots of space.

yes the gas of the fart makes it through, but just like the mask the bvds and jeans keep the splatter down that is all the mask is there to do.

I do not wear a mask, I wear a respirator instead..if I care to wear one.

A mask is a filter. What does a filter do? Plastic makes a poor filter because it stops way too much stuff. Bird netting makes a poor filter because it lets way too much through.

I'm pretty sure most of our typical cloth masks do at least something.

Yup. Also, I have to check, but I thought I heard you can't conceal carry with a mask on. If true, now you can't carry in a store that allows c.c. if they make you wear a mask.

What leads you to believe that Trump will be elected? There won't be a vaccine before end of this year and if there is they will have to kill me to take it as it won't be properly tested.

The problem as I see it is people die every day, always have, what's changed now is we all think we are special. The economic fall out from the reactions to the virus has the potential to be more devastating than the virus. The odds of that happening is becoming very likely.

Yep, Steven 49er, its just how they get classified. Somebody with stage 4 cancer just enters hospice care and probably has 3 months to live. If they catch or at least test positive for covid and die earlier than the expected 3 months, its a covid death. "Death rates" are all over the place as a percentage of positives. In South Dakota, we're at about 1%, nationally its about 6% last time I did the math. In Michigan, its over 9%. Must be lot of other factors being thrown in than just the virus. Don't hear of any systematic effort to determine what the real death rate is for this thing. No real media coverage that ventilators may not be the best thing to use on really sick patients, heard Gov Cuomo say twice about a month ago that 80% of the people going on ventilators for covid don't come off. That's doesn't sound like a winning strategy. Some Euro researchers are saying this thing is more like high altitude sickness in many cases than a pneumonia and heavy O2 saturation is better than a vent.

I have gotten to where I don't believe anything on the internet, and refuse to read that crap anymore. Most disingenuous place to get info there is. Just been in three states picking up fur, and while I took precautions, I never wore a mask and ain't gonna. The only good a mask may do is if you have it. Restrictions were somewhat lifted and several ma and Pa businesses advertised they were opening back up and could use local support to bounce back. So I loaded up the van with my wife and kids just to go spend money at these location to help out.

Went to an ice cream shop 1st. Stopped us at the door and told us we all had to wear gloves, mask, stay six ft apart, only 5 allowed in store at one time (family of six!!!!!!!), And kids couldn't serve themselves!!! This was all their choice!!!!!!!!! No commie Democrat Mayor telling them to do it! Their choice! Told them they obviously didn't need my support and we went down the road to the next ma and Pa ice cream shop.

Did this all afternoon spending money where there were no restrictions and taking notes on the ones who were still being idiots!

Lots of places that I use to frequent pushed me to other places I've never frequented!

I have quickly come to the conclusion this whole thing is a ploy by sick individuals in positions of high influence and power to win the next election by destroying a historically high economy and pushing for mail in ballots!
