I used to clean parking lots (with a street sweeper truck) in the Detroit area, and would find some pretty "amazing" things....

Just a reminder, that there is a plague going on, and people are throwing things away that dead and sick Coronavirus people have had in their homes, as you can not give the stuff to Goodwill.

Have used those big hammer gang trolls, steel line, for lake trout in Ontario. Excellent lures Old243

That would be a dream find for me. I have been wanting to incorporate some of those for trolling.
I'd put them inline, ahead of a curly tail grub or crankbait. The idea of these to me is they get the attention of the fish as you troll past them. They wake up in time to grab what is coming in behind them.

Re: Found these at my local dump - 05/24/20 02:11 AM

put a minnow on a treble hook, about 3 feet behind, heavy mono. I used a bait needle to put line through minnow. deadly on trout. Like 50/50 brass and silver blades Troll right near bottom old 243

Wash them in hot soapy water. That should kill the Corona.

What in the world do you catch with something like that?

And Mr. Bruce, whereabouts you gonna be in Florida?

Re: Found these at my local dump - 05/24/20 02:52 AM

What a score- let me know if you want to complete your new kit with willow leaves b/c I never use them. If I need a lure to move quickly I like watching the tip of my rod tip 4-6 inches every RPM and the large mouth and even Guadalupe Bass will come from completely around the other side of a big structure to investigate that racket (think buzzbait on a down rigger)

We called the larger ones Christmas Trees, and would put a nightcrawler behind them and troll for Rainbows.
