recurve bow ? - 06/07/20 11:19 PM

Locksley Panther 64" bow.

I am not familiar with these bows at all. It is 45Lb. @28"s. I have a chance to get it for 10-15 bucks. Is it worth it?

Anyone with any info on these bows, I would appreciate hearing from ya.

Any bow that is sound and shootable is worth 15 bucks, I say if it's nice, buy it!

I looked at stickbow.com/leatherwall. Looks like it was a bow company in Little Rock Ar. they had a thread on Locksley bows. I would snatch it up at that price.

Yes I would grab it also. Make sure to check all the laminations that there is no separations or cracking. For $15 it would still make a nice wall ornament if nothing else.

Just an fyi, when getting a string for a recurve, get it 4" shorter than what it says on the bow. I just bought a string and it goes from tip to tip. Then I researched it. Now I know.

Except for Herter's brand bows. Can't remember the exact number, but its not the industry standard 4 inches.

if you need a string for a trad bow, look up Ten Ring Strings, fellas name is Alan, out of Virginia I believe. tons of colors to pick from. he'll know what kind of material to use for your particular bow. get the tied on nock points and string puffs. it'll cost about 20 bucks.

Shot my first two deer with an old Damian howett recurve 45 lb pull. Razor sharp broadheads and get in close, all you will ever need.
Go find another one and have fun!
