Looks like FTA/WI convention is a scratch for me

Looks like FTA/WI convention is a scratch for me - 06/10/20 02:19 AM

I just found out tonight that my granddaughter is getting married on September 12. I was basically told in no uncertain terms that I had to be there - CRAP!!!

I was really looking forward to going. Missed WI last year because of an impending hurricane, and now this.

Okay, I'm done whining - I can't stand whiners - lol.

Did you float the idea of her moving her wedding to Marshfield?

You could make the first day of Ohio's Convention and still get home for the 12th. grin

Well, I'll be at the Iowa convention so you'd miss seeing me, so...it'd be a bummer for you anyway.
Congrats on the granddaughter getting married
To make this completely about me; was the new book going to be ready for the WI show?
Thanks Boss,

Or....you could have them move the WI show and wedding to Iowa and we could talk Kendall Obermier into playing at the reception? Just a thought......

You could get a cardboard cut out of yourself and your wife could take it to the wedding instead of you!!! grin grin

Family is important. Job #1.

Do your thing , no apologies needed or expected. Period.

There will other chances with conventions etc , there is only one chance with being a good family member.

You have a complete pass on missing this event. No harm, no foul.

Family matters come first. Period.

Well dad blast it Paul, a guy has to do what a guy has to do.
Enjoy your day with family. Reminds me of a time when my ex brother-in-law
got married on opening day of deer season, ya should have seen the looks on
the faces of us guys who had to be there. His bride said "that was the only Saturday
in November the church was not booked". lol
Hope you have a great time and will miss you at the rondy.

You'll be wishing for a hurricane if you don't show up

You got that right. My eldest son got married on a weekend when I was supposed to go to a Virginia convention. I told Rhonda that he didn't need me to get married. I attended the wedding with bandages about my head and shoulders from the frying pan.

For cryin' out loud, you have to be there for the wedding AND the rehearsal dinner too; that's asking a lot!!!!! I could see if you were the father and had to give her away, but grandpas just have to stuff a lot of money in the envelope!!!! grin

Seriously, congrats to the bride, you, and the whole family.

Paul,
You are a blessed man! May your tribe increase.
And as it does, your family obligations will keep your Toyota with 500,000 miles on it, in the driveway more often.
I know. I'm living that dream also brother!

Blessings
