Black National Anthem for Week 1 NFL Games

I didn't know y'all had two different nations down there? Seems odd...
Do you think sports have been gone so long that people will watch no matter what? Or will people finally act on what they say and stop watching?

"Lift Ev'ry Voice And Sing," traditionally known as the Black national anthem, is expected to be performed live or played before every Week 1 NFL game, and the league is considering a variety of other measures during the upcoming season to recognize victims of police brutality, a source familiar with the league's discussions told The Undefeated on Thursday.

The song would be performed before "The Star-Spangled Banner," the sources said. The NFL's season opener is scheduled for Sept. 10, with the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Houston Texans.

Having recently displayed increased awareness about the problems of systemic racism, the NFL, in collaboration with the NFL Players Association, is also considering listing the names of victims on uniforms through decals on helmets or patches on jerseys. The NFL also may produce educational programs about victims, among other plans.

Early last month, commissioner Roger Goodell in a video admitted that the league had erred in how it handled peaceful NFL player protests of police brutality and systemic oppression. Goodell condemned racism and affirmed that Black lives matter, pledging his allegiance to the players in the battle for equal justice under the law.

Also in June, the league revealed plans to increase its social justice footprint by pledging to donate $250 million over a 10-year period.

The league hopes its efforts demonstrate "a genuine commitment to the public, players and coaches and that player voices continue to be heard," the source wrote in a text message. "This is key to educating fans, and becoming a prominent voice in the fight to end racism.""

Well they wont have to play it very loud cause there won't be anybody in the stands. And I hear they're not going to allow whites to play in the NFL anymore.

The native land is Africa. Why should there be a divisive song to Africa sang at American Football games.

It's looking less and less like we can live together. No more than a handful of black people have spoke out against all the destruction and hurt being done by black people. Unless more black people step up to police their own, soon there will be no living black people in America.

X2 - I have enjoyed all the hours I got back in my life after ditching the NFL. Looks like I’ll get even more time back now thanks to NASCAR.

A real American and a real American sport- pee on grown men making millions to chase a stupid ball. I wouldn't begrudge them their success except they seem intent to paint me as somehow guilty just because I'm not black.

I just saw this, and I am embarrassed to be a NFL fan! My team finally won the super bowl, and now this...I am sickened!

I’ve never been a football or basketball fan. It’s mostly just a bunch of thugs who can’t even write their names making millions playing a stupid kids game. The college players are just as bad now too.

As Americans, we have one and only one national anthem and as Americans, we should stand with our hand over our hearts anything else is unacceptable. If the blacks start this totally unacceptable rant everyone in attendance should walkout.
