I would have never solved the riddle but for the record maple is the most used wood in baseball bats with ash being highly regarded as well. Also several other tree species have wind carried twirling seeds as a distribution method and black walnut toxicity is what it is referenced as and not a poison and other species like hickory have similar but lesser levels of toxin. I know nothing about the rainbow trees.

well heck, I thought bats were made of Ash, pretty sure I saw a show one time that said Ash was preferred, sorry bout that one boys.
Though other trees have similar seeds it seems common atleast locally to call maples "helicopter trees" I hear that often from customers.
I was pretty confident in the first two so I may have been a bit lackadaisical about the Walnut reference, I knew that one would be hard.
