Re: Riddle - 07/05/20 02:22 AM

Please clarify. 'past' time, as in history, or 'pass' time, as in recreation.

I offer that catching the last coyote is easier than riddles.

Plus, Mom never let me play with the neighbor kid who riddled the neighborhood.

Let it rain man.

Let it rain.

Okay, almost 500 views and no one has come close. First hint, America's past time is baseball

Re: Riddle - 07/05/20 12:46 PM

Baseball would be a PASS time. (Something to do to keep you occupied or entertained.) smile

Charlie

I am not going to disagree with that but it is described as "past time" in nearly all common referencing.

That is actually a good answer but not the correct one. Bonus point for good deductive reasoning even if the answer is incorrect.

I'm not much for sports, the baseball reference is the only thing to do with sports.

Actually that would be PASTIME, not pass time or past time

Re: Riddle - 07/06/20 03:42 AM

I would have never solved the riddle but for the record maple is the most used wood in baseball bats with ash being highly regarded as well. Also several other tree species have wind carried twirling seeds as a distribution method and black walnut toxicity is what it is referenced as and not a poison and other species like hickory have similar but lesser levels of toxin. I know nothing about the rainbow trees.

Rainbow Eucalyptus are absolutely gorgeous. I'm amazed there aren't more attention given them, or plantings of them in this country and elsewhere.

well heck, I thought bats were made of Ash, pretty sure I saw a show one time that said Ash was preferred, sorry bout that one boys.

Though other trees have similar seeds it seems common atleast locally to call maples "helicopter trees" I hear that often from customers.

I was pretty confident in the first two so I may have been a bit lackadaisical about the Walnut reference, I knew that one would be hard.

Rainbow Eucalyptus, see the picture

I don't know if the leaves are as medicinal and aromatic as the ones that line the roads in CA and HI ....but the colours alone have my vote . If they grew up in the Rockies here, I would surely plant them.
