just watching the reruns and I am wondering how Edna and Heimo will be able to make ends meet and pay their bills if they can't sell the fur they trap?

I think Heimo is still alive, wasn’t it Bob Harte that passed? I think they probably make enough from the show to get by, regardless of the fur prices. Seems like they have new gear and pretty decent snow machines during the show season.

The Last Alaskans and Alone are probably the only shows I can really enjoy b/c they both tell the story w/o adding as much drama as most of the others. That being said, I will sometimes follow Gold Rush and it's spin offs but I am careful to DVR them so I can skip the commercials + the 90 seconds of same footage and drama after each commercial.

Are they taping new shows. The one on now says first aired July 6 2020. Like the show and very interesting.

It looks like they just added Arctic Refuge to the name and are re-running the original series as a new show.

No idea what they were making but wife and I were offered 1500$ an episode for another Alaskan show. We politely declined. A week later we got another call offering “up to” 5k a show if they could follow our entire move from selling our house to buying our place up here...and then obviously following our every move. Again we politely declined.

Heimo did not pass on. Him and Edna can still sell fur. Not sure what they make money wise but they do OK.
