Finally got my first silver. A mercury dime. Found 2.28 in coins today. Cool old green lock. Not sure if I want to restore it or keep the pitena. Nice old broch, suspender clasp, tags with nothing on them. Old gun and three hubbly cars, the property owner wanted those. Five of the pennies were Wheaties.

I love metal detecting. I have yet to find silver coins yet. I’ve found tons of things so far, but an 1860’s era mini ball is probably my favorite so far. Used to have Calvary here to protect homesteads from the Comanche. I’d guess that’s where it came from.

I might have been a little bit spoiled , my first time using a detector was in my own yard , iI found a gold wedding ring and a poccet full of silver coins.
My neighbor told me this old houes has always had kids and this is the house all the neighbors kids played at.

Judging from the corrosion on a couple of those pennies, I'd say those were the new clad junk ones! Kinda like most things this day and age!

Those new pennies get chunky and return to dust quickly.

Great finds. I’ve wanted one for years but realize I have enough bad habits. Trapping, hunting, fishing, RC airplanes the list goes on and on. Never mind I’m asking Santa for one this December lol
