How should I respond to a stupid friend?

The person on the left has no idea of what's going on. All that was said was exactly what the media says.

If he's your friend, you owe it to him to straighten him out. If he takes it personal, he ain't your friend.

Allow your friend to have his own opinion. Just because his views differ from yours does not mean he's stupid.

Well they told you how they feel about the situation, you should respond without being argumentative. There is actually a very effective method to respond in situations like this. You respond with actual facts you can quote from reputable sources. Dale Carnegie calls it disagreeing agreeably, or something like that. Very effective when you can quote facts and the other person is responding based on their emotions.

Tell him to wait for someone in his home to take a good stinky dump in the bathroom. They can spray air freshener if they want. Put on his mask and see if he can smell it. He may figure out on his own how effective his mask really is.

Is he stupid or does he have a different opinion than you do? How do you know you're right and he's wrong? We all get our information from other people. Parents, friends, TMan, any of the thousands of news or not news or TV talking heads, radio, etc. Have you vetted all the information you're getting on the virus, or any other topic, down to the original source?

Time is the revelator. You might both be wrong. He might be misguided. You might be dead wrong and learn that later. You might be more right than you know.

It's fine to disagree, if he's being respectful, he's not being stupid, he just doesn't agree with you. It's a two way street.
