Charles Dobbins Land Sets and Trapping Techniques was probably my favorite. The Great Teachers was also a good read.

Mink Mania by Phil Presjak I had mink on my line but could not catch them This book showed me how to put a trap where a traveling mink would be putting his foot the next time though that area And Charlie Dobbins Adjustment of Foot Hold Traps .While not a methods book the lesson of paying attention to details is the lesson I learned from it paid dividends in every aspect of my trapping going forward Making those changes such as swivels in chains adjusting pans to eliminate slop resulted in less snapped empty traps

Tough question. These days I like the story books the best, like Russ Carmen's "Bumpy roads" Thorpes "Fify years a trapper and treasure hunter" and the one about Bill Nelson is great.
One that might be lesser known that I thought was among the best is "They called Him Wildcat." By Oscar Cronk.

Method book are nice, but if you are on the internet, you probably already know how to make a dirthole, and I've found that videos do a better job of teaching location, for me, anyway.
Buy all the method books you can and then find out what works for you, not sure you can shortcut that process.

I have many books and videos but I am always looking for new ones. As for online sources you have to research the source is, many have very little if any actual trapline experience.

Some of the best videos show the targets actually working active sets, watching these will humble you. It is amazing how long animals can work a set without being caught. I hope that more people focus on these types of videos they are amazing resources to see what actually happens on a trapline.

I recently got Hoofbeats of a Wolfer, and it is pretty full of information. I can see why so many guys take instruction from him. I haven’t ordered the updates yet, but I plan to soon. As for the James Lucero book Master Wolfer, is it available anywhere?

The updates are good also. They are great to deal with over the phone, also the black screen pan cover material they sell is good stuff.
