I haven't been to the Alamo--so I haven't seen anything.
And that is the only thing on my bucket list. But then I would have to fly and that is one thing I have never done. And my son in law is an airplane mechanic and owns a plane.LOL--birds were meant to fly-not me.

Beav and Bogmaster, wow, there were alot of beavers accounted for then between you. Although I never met either of you personally and probably never will, it seems like I know you both, through name and reputation. and all I can say is Wow, they caught more beaver then I will ever see

That is a lot of Hoss...most likely Percheron, maybe even a cross, given hoof size and amount of feathering. They ride like a lazy boy wide chair, hard to fall off .

I know folks in their late seventies, even some early eighties who still ride. I will always ride , too.
Fun picture cool

Re: Lefty, Alot of years - 08/01/20 04:58 PM

You are right Sharon, a Percheron,...If I remember correctly it weighted around 1500 pounds, (we never did use the hands measurement) just weight. We kept horses to work in the woods logging. I would ride them bare-back when they were old and quiet..lol

Watching a team skid logs by voice command is a thing of beauty.

Very true. Impressive to say the least. Watching working horses do their thing is amazing.

Sharon would know a lot more about the Percheron, but it looks to me like a team of those things could start a train rollin. Wow.

Also- check out Ticks curls- I bet he got lots of dates back in the day
