The article doesn't say why?

Move him to general population and he probably won’t be alive to long.

Re: Boston bomber - 07/31/20 11:03 PM

Great, now I get to pay for him to live to be 80 and so does everyone else. They should have put a bullet in his ear 10 minutes after the sentence.

That rotten little chit committed an act of terrorism on a smaller, albeit just as criminal scale as 9/11. He should be hung by his skinny neck till dead in the Boston Civic Square.

You're right FoxNews goes a little more in depth. Basically the appeals court judges (1 by Regan and 2 by Obama) say it was an unfair trial.

“A core promise of our criminal-justice system is that even the very worst among us deserves to be fairly tried and lawfully punished — a point forcefully made by the then-U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts during a presser at the trial's end," the three-judge panel wrote.

They added: "To help make that promise a reality, decisions long on our books say that a judge handling a case involving prejudicial pretrial publicity must elicit 'the kind and degree' of each prospective juror's 'exposure to the case or the parties,' if asked by counsel, see Patriarca v. United States, 402 F.2d 314, 318 (1st Cir. 1968) — only then can the judge reliably assess whether a potential juror can ignore that publicity, as the law requires. But despite a diligent effort, the judge here did not meet the standard set by Patriarca and its successors.”

Didn't take them this long to kill Mcveigh, different justice systems depending on what political affiliation you are attached to.

IIRC McVeigh waved all appeals.

Re: Boston bomber - 08/01/20 10:55 AM

That's how I remember it as well. It seemed like McVeigh wanted to be executed.

So It looks like the juror's have to be put on trial as to their impartiality before the trial. Shouldn't the question be, did he do it or not?

Re: Boston bomber - 08/01/20 06:27 PM

I was there at mile 26 across the street, just .2 mile from the bomb. Wife’s SIL was a runner. I heard, felt, and smelled the bombs. I thought it was a nat gas explosion until the second explosion. Everyone was confused, even the police. Spent the afternoon in a strangers apartment with two freezing runners we didn’t know, but took in. Couldn’t sleep well for several months. Haven’t been back and never will.

That kid should be executed.

That will eliminate the death penalty quick. Once people see what it looks like to see someone die, they will likely lose their
thirst for blood.

Re: Boston bomber - 08/02/20 12:25 AM

if they won't execute him Super max , no sun light , 1 hour a day outside of cell , florescent lights that never turn off, no human contact just doors that buzz and open on a timer and never see any outside light.

with being let out of your cell on a schedule that rotates so that it is some time during a 24 hour period but never the same time any day of the month.

with no way to tell time , no way of knowing day or night , no contact with any human and no end with a life sentence.

hey and a tasteless bar food and water that is nutritionally designed to keep him alive and healthy but tasteless.

Have to be a native born American. Excluded Kissinger, Hamilton, Swartzeneger, and possibly Obama.
