Old Coin Value? - 08/07/20 02:48 PM
Do I have anything of value here or just some old pennies? I am not a coin guy so don't know what to look for or what years are "special".

Maybe with the 1909. If in the back it has VDB in small print at the bottom it has some value. V.D.B. is the initials of the person who designed the wheat back. There was an uproar about the initials being their and they were remkved shortly into minting. Some of the other years could have some value depending on how many of each year were minted. Shorter runs of course being more sought after.

You are old enough that you probably got that 1909 penny as a graduation gift.

What is the world's most expensive penny?
The world's most expensive penny - This Lincoln cent was struck in the wrong metal at the Denver Mint in 1943. Just 40 of the coins are known to exist. In 2010, a dealer in New Jersey sold his 1943 penny for a staggering $1,700,000.00.

The 1909 svdb is worth quite a bit of change.

A guy could buy a bunch of BVD's with a VDB-S

Re: Old Coin Value? - 08/08/20 03:13 AM
I would think an S in your BVDs would make them pretty worthless.

I couldn’t get there even if I wanted to. I’ve been trying since the first of June.

Ya I hear you about the boarder closure, it has been rough for a lot of fish/ hunt camps this summer and everything moving forward.
That Peach whiskey sure does evaporate fast when the top is cracked open.
