Good Children's Cartoons

Good Children's Cartoons - 08/09/20 12:59 AM

I have Dish network for TV cause all we can get is sattellite TV and internet. The cartoons we can get on there for our daughter are terrible and filled with propaganda.

We can only get Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers for one hour only. Also Fox News Channel is no longer available to us. Dish took it off, but we can still watch MSNBC, CNN, etc. This is censorship at its best.

Wife bought the new Scooby Doo at Walmart and it ain't even close to the original.

Masha and the Bear is good stuff! The US made cartoons are pure filth and trash.

Masha and the Bear Season 1 Episode 1 below. ...... Good stuff for you Dad's trying to find something wholesome to watch with your little girls!!

For a girl, some of the Barbie movies are available and fairly wholesome without all the virtue signalling

Dish has the Boomerang channel which is mainly classic cartoons like, looney tunes, Tom and Jerry flintstones etc...
If you have an antenna you probably have more than 1 PBS channel, there's a pbs channel called pbs kids and it shows nothing but kid friendly shows. PBS kids also has an app

TV is driven by sponsor revenue which is driven by ratings. Somebody must pay.

My grandkids love the old Looney Toons.

I need to find Deputy Dawg, Possible Possum and Muskie Muskrat and let them watch a couple of those

They weren't too interested in Johnny Quest.

For more recent stuff, they liked VeggieTales, Backyardigans and anything superhero related.

VeggieTales, and there was one about prariedogs that was great. Little Dogs on the Prarie. But I don't know where to find that one. They both have Christian themes.

We have Netflix and the kids watch Masha and The Bear all the time, too. You can setup a user profile just for the kids and they can only access kids stuff.

We also have Prime. It has all kinds of kids stuff.

The Wisconsin Public Network has a channel devoted to kids programming. The cartoons are focused on learning. I highly recommend Molly of Denali if you can get it. It is based on life in Alaska and teaches a lot about nature.

That said, I do my best to limit TV time. Kids learn best outside.

Disney+ has a lot of good old cartoons. Chip and dale. Donald Duck. The old duck tales. Dark wing duck. I really like... I mean the kids really like the old cartoons. I like when masha Says “maybe” before and after her point.
“Maybe you should just leave him alone maybe” my oldest is 9 and my youngest is 3 so I’ve been watching cartoons for 37 years. grin

Molly of Denali!
Molly’s favorite food - Muktuk (whale)
Fur is common in garments.
Caribou is a staple. Fishing and berry picking common themes.
Hands down the best cartoon I’ve ever seen. I enjoy it more than my 3 year old.
And it’s on PBS Kids.

Re: Good Children's Cartoons - 08/13/20 10:51 AM

SpongeBob SquarePants (a terrible show) ruined Nickelodeon. Cartoons rocked when I was a kid. We had Ren and stimpy, ah real monsters, Rugrats, Doug, hey Arnold, the angry beavers, catdog etc etc. And it hasn't just the cartoons. The live action stuff was good too...salute your shorts, Pete and Pete, are you afraid of the dark, hey dude, all that, roundhouse, all those were good. Now kids are stuck with garbage like Pepa pig and the inbestigators.

Had some of my great grandkids over one day. I found some old tapes my kids used to watch. One they really liked was H.R. Pufnstuf.
