Not sure if that MDF is strong enough for the top. Might want to switch that to a solid 8/4 Red Elm top.

How thick is the MDF? If you need to stiffen it up, you can always cross brace it. The bigger issue is whether you get racking or tipping when you're plunging the bit. The legs look plenty stout if they have full, non-slip contact with the floor.

MDF is 3/4 inch. Never liked using that for a heavy weight bearing surface,
