Our local DMV is requiring one. Had several people tell me the line forms outside, and it takes hours to get your business done

I think I've lived here a long time and never seen a DMV office? If you mean the local license office (License Bureau commonly) of the DOR, I believe those guys are all third party contractors that can and do set their own rules.

If the local practiced social distancing they would have to make the sales on the porch, inside is about 6'x10'.

Went to the courthouse today. 1 in maybe 10 government employees wearing them in there, but they made us wear them in. And then we went to a restaurant where you had to wear a mask in but then you take it off once seated? I'm really just not sure what the world has come to. Just think about this period of time the next time someone preaching these common sense measures starts talking about common sense gun control. I have a whole new idea of what people mean when they say common sense.

This was in Jefferson City . They changed buildings so maybe they went private contractor too but the old lady that the DOT guys call if they have a question about licensing requirements on certain obscure commercial vehicle . Is still there .

As far as DMV verses DOR or liscence bureau . I figured on a international forum more people would know what a DMV was than a DOR .

What is the big deal about wearing a mask around other people? Why would anyone object to a courteous act. I don’t get it. I just ate dinner with my son tonight. His wife is a doctor. She couldn’t enjoy our meal because of the phone calls she was getting from parents who suspected their child has the virus.

We're expected to wear them at work but not if we're in our own offices. So...everybody puts on a mask to walk down the hall to each other's offices. As soon as we get to someone else's office, where nobody is watching, the masks come off. We mask up to walk past the same people that we will be sitting and talking with maskless a few minutes later.

The boss's boss walked into the restroom while I was washing my hands. He's the one who sends the emails that we must wear masks. We chatted for a few seconds. He apologized for not wearing his mask - which he wasn't. I was. I told him I wouldn't be wearing one if it wasn't the office rule. He laughed awkwardly. He's actually a good guy just trying not to get us shut down at the governor's orders.

lol, I didn't make the connection right away, if hadn't spent years in a yankee state I'd probably had to look it up. Always been just the license bureau and the contractor used to change with any election that shifted party power. The current guy has had it for so long now that he has it all run by employees, not sure he even goes in any more.
I just supposed it was that way in every county.
Trouble with wearing a mask is you gotta keep taking off to spit.

Indiana mask rules are supposed to be enforced by the county health departments. Funny thing is, just before the state-wide mask mandate came out, my wife took the kids to the county health department to get the kids some vaccinations. She asked if they would need to wear masks when they came in. They told her there was no reason. was no need to wear a mask and just come on in. But now I guess the governor is a better medical expert than the county health department.
