Barnes Hide & Fur

Barnes Hide & Fur - 08/22/20 08:07 PM

Trevor Barnes put on a Customer Appreciation Days event. What a great time. Demos, great deals from Trevor and quite a few other vendors, good food, and most of all, fellowship with other trappers that I've been missing. With all the conventions being cancelled, this event was much needed for me. Trevor and his wife are great people. Hope this turns into a yearly event. If you see this, thank you Trevor!

Didn't hear any market talk at all. I think it's just too unpredictable right now.

I don’t think we will have any idea what the market is going to be like until we have a couple of auctions next spring. It’s probably not gonna be great. I think the best we can hope for is marginal. If we are being completely honest I think people are gonna have a hard time selling fur, let alone for a decent price. Then again, this downturn may have folks hanging up their traps, allowing some backlogged fur to clear and prices to stabilize. I’m pretty much just shooting in the dark here lol

i'm looking at this fha sale as a huge thermometer of where we are at.

what i'm seeing and hearing as far as the ginseng market goes scares me for fur.

i really thought sang and its buyers would still be full tilt or more and thats far from what is taking place.

I’m planning on killing a TON of coyotes this season. A year ago I would have said I’d settle for a $80 average. Now? I’m hoping for $40, but my hopes aren’t high.
