Herkimer Trapper's & Sportsmen's Flea Market - 09/05/20 01:14 PM

walleyed attended this event Friday, the 4th from Dawn until 1:00pm.

I bought about 5 dozen used #1 1/2 long springs for $2.00 to $3.00 each.

Both Blake & Lamb and Oneida/Victor brands.

The event seemed well attended and I'd estimate there were 200 to 300
vehicles in the parking lot when I left at 1:00pm.

Thanks to Bill Swagler for a very well run event despite the Covid-19 challenges.

I thought attendance was decent today. Most dealers were packed up and gone by 3, at least in building 1

Friday was a better day than Saturday. It was good to see old friends and make new acquaintances. Bob, I had 1.5 Victors for sale @$3 but you did not approach my area!

I went Saturday from 10 till 3. Everyone said Friday was attended better. Lots of good deals on used traps. Bought some of Lesel Reuwsaat's fox urine, IMO his urines are way better in quality than most. He told me he usually goes to twenty some conventions but because of all that's going on this was only the second one he's been to.

I attended on Saturday and had a great time, i bought over 300 dollars in paper, FFG, HTT, FUR NEWSs, original AMERICAN TRAPPERs AND WESTERN TRAPPERs, 4 out of print BOOKS along with some Grimshaw Lures and picked up some other lures for my Amish friends in Catt County. I also picked up a nice newhouse trap and two montgomery traps, got a line a nice hand forge that I may pick up next week. Food as excellent and spent time with quite a few people. For the restrictions in NYS i would say it was a great event and a good bench mark to compare when there are no restrictions. To me it was a buyers market, between a down fur market and social events. Traffic on the Thruway was minimal. I did see one very interesting item, a match book with matches that was from PM SEDLAK, advertising the School Boy Trapper, photo on the back cover and contact in formation inside the flip. It was nice to catch up with Jim and Judy Comstock also. Spent time with SawMill, Trapper Girl, Mark Zagger and Jeff D., had a great time. Thanks NYSTA.

Mike,

I did not see you're tailgating area.

Where were you.

Don't think I ever hit the north end of the strip.

I was close to Tom Gebo's fur tent. Trappers made the best of the situation and Bill deserves a lot of credit for pulling it together.

Nittany, I saw quite a few Dailey, Butcher and Hawbaker Catalogues, lots from the 60s, I did not see any from Green Castle, I looked for the Hawbaker Raccoon book, no luck. There was quite a bit of paper I have contact number from a Conneticut collector that brought some duplicates, he also had the Pat Sedlak match book with the cover promoting the School Boy Trapper, if you want his number let me know.

Yeah,

Never went near Gebo's Setup.

Didn't see any trap piles there Friday.

Must have walked right by you.
