Cherry Wood Day Night Pill Box

Solid Cherry. 7 Day , Morning and Night Pill box.
Made with a slider top. But, thinking of making it with 2 solid Brass hinges on the back, with a Brass Latch lock in the front.

Looks great! How did you rout out the pill holes to get them rectangular? Build a jig? Any way you did it, it looks good!

Very nice Bob !! I wish I had one like that but the holes need to be a bit bigger.

Zoo; there are drill bits that cut square holes like that

There is 2 ways to do it.

1. Drill a hole in the center of spot, and then chisel it out , until it is square.

2, The easy way !! Use a benchtop Mortising Machine. The old Delta works good cutting out the slots . Need to get a better Mortising Machine. The old Delta is, well.. OLD!

Yes CB, I have mortising bits, however, they are square with sharp square corners, not rounded. Mabey I need to update, as the bits I have were purchased in 1951. Nun the less, still nice work.
