What's the big deal now? Cops carry guns so they can shoot bad people when they have to; why does that seem to be such a new concept for so many people?

Police Officers also carry gun to protect themselves just like more people are doing these days. Most of the bad guy are armed now days.

Does anybody know what caliber the LEOs carry now? 9mm was the thing for awhile but they decided that wasn't enough.

State police here use .45 gap. 90% effective on 1 shot to center mass.

Game wardens use .357 sig.

Stopped in a local Academy Sports for a few things. Out of curiosity I checked out the guns and ammo situation. Still low inventory, certain styles of long guns and ammo not in stock.
Most telling was the holster selection which was largely out of stock. Why so many carry holsters selling????

Its bad, I went to a local store and was all excited that they had 6 boxes of hornady varmint shells. Havent found much ammo locally that wasnt FMJ. Unfortunately I didnt notice the box said .222REM. Pretty sure it wouldnt work in my .223/5.56 <_<. Didnt notice the box said that till after I loaded the first box into a mag and reached for the next. No returns on ammo and I dont have a .222
