Re: Missouri’s trappers rendezvous - 09/14/20 05:47 PM

Sure disappointed that I won’t be able to make it. Since I got into trapping, the conventions and get-togethers have been the highlights of my year. It’s like missing a family reunion.

Hope there’s a good crowd and everyone has a great time! I’ll sure miss seeing you guys.

Re: Missouri’s trappers rendezvous - 09/16/20 04:56 PM

She is fine. My step mom has it so for Alicia to go back to work, she had to have a negative test. Well she went and got swabbed, thinking she was good. Has no symptoms.. came back positive! So I went today and had to get swabbed work made me my results come back tomorrow. I've been sick around a week and half now went to Dr. They said sinus infection due to my history. So I'm sure I have had it and will test positive. But I'm on the back end feeling 10 better even though it was never horrible to begin with

Re: Missouri’s trappers rendezvous - 09/16/20 05:56 PM

Well I’m glad she’s feeling well, a 2 week paid vacation from work wouldn’t be all bad!

Re: Missouri’s trappers rendezvous - 09/16/20 06:28 PM

It's not full pay,. I get 67 percent of my pay and have to make up the rest of my time with vacation time, so I'm hoping I get back soon! I don't want to waste my time for trapping.. Alicia is salary she gets paid being there or not!

Re: Missouri’s trappers rendezvous - 09/19/20 02:45 AM

Only got to stay for an hour, nothing like a trapping get together. Walk in the door and the wonderful smell of rotten meat and skunk. I picked up 3 new lures a few old favorites, some brackets for 110's and some misc. supplies. Wished I could have stayed for demos. but family first.

Re: Missouri’s trappers rendezvous - 09/19/20 12:24 PM

Farmnhunt glad you got to show up for a bit.

We watched a couple demos and have a couple more on my list to watch today. Was nice talking with some people I knew and meeting some new people. My wife is now a member thanks to the generosity of a gentleman who sat down and chatted with us a while. We plan to stick around for the auction tonight and see what that’s all about

Re: Missouri’s trappers rendezvous - 09/19/20 12:46 PM

Glad to hear you got to pick up a few items Farmnhunt.

Good to hear you’re getting some demo’s in Michael. Nice to hear of the generosity and your wife becoming a member too. Trappers are a great bunch of folks in my experience.

The weather has been good, so hopefully that helps with attendance and sales.

Re: Missouri’s trappers rendezvous - 09/21/20 03:53 PM

I want to thank all who made the 2020 MTA Rendezvous a mighty successful convention!!
Kelly Turner, you did it brother!! Kelly worked his tail off as the District 6 director on this rondy. Great job Kelly.
And it was a successful convention. Good crowds, lots of campers, happy vendors, and awesome weather. The fundraiser auction was the best we have had monetarily in many years. It was for sure the most fun that we have had at the auction in many years! Lots of laughs any money spent for a good cause.
Thanks to all who attended.
Next year we will be in District 2 at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Montgomery City.
Clay Creech
MTA President

Did he touch on parachute trapping, MM? grin

Re: Missouri’s trappers rendezvous - 09/22/20 01:19 PM

Lee, the only person I saw there who was in need of a parachute was Hemseth. He needed it to keep from falling. Of course it was 1am.....around a campfire......and there might have been barley pop involved......
