Harvest sun??

Harvest sun?? - 09/16/20 12:34 AM

When they cut grain here when the weeds are dying of thirst, it get a little haze in the air. Anyone else have sun like this today? It was like this all day long. You can look at it and not hurt your eyes. Everything is covered in fine dust. If the pickup sits a week you can hardly see out.

Re: Harvest sun?? - 09/16/20 12:35 AM

Smoke from wildfires caused by global warming (not the lack of good forestry practices).

Cheeto man bad

It might be from the harvest dust where you are at MJM but here in Pennsylvania the sun looked just like that yesterday. The smoke from the western fires has reached the East Coast.

The whiter areas are clouds, a patch of cirrostratus along the PA/NY border and stratus along the east coast. If you zoom in you can see all the hazy areas that are smoke. The pic is from 24 hours ago, smoke was just reaching southeastern PA.

Same in NJ. We don't get that much dust here from harvesting and it's not big grain season here yet. Weather forecast showed no clouds today but it looked overcast all day. Definitely smoke up in the atmosphere.

It was the same way here on Monday.

It was like you were looking at it through a filter.

Do NOT look at the sun! It will do damage to your eyes, even tho it doesn't seem to hurt them!

Your eyes have a mist from the smoke of a distant fire..................

The smoke made for a cool sunset when we went down to Road America Monday night. Didn't take a good shot of the sunset but this is about 2 hours before and the sun just looked like a orange dot in the sky.
