Well, castor shines. At those prices I can still make a profit trapping beaver.

Wow they are carrying over a lot of fur!

Rough math on fur that did not sell
60,000 Beaver
60,000 muskrats
over 150,000 raccoon
20,000 red fox
30,000 mink
15,000 fisher

They have had many auctions with less fur then what they are still holding. Buckle up boy's she is going to get rough.

71 (of 72) them beaver mine.

Re: FHA Press release - 09/16/20 05:35 PM

I know for a fact that quite a few of those muskrats are dealer goods with limits. The muskrat market isn’t as bad as the raccoon market. The prices might not be great but there is a demand for muskrats at current levels. Can’t say the same for raccoon.

Re: FHA Press release - 09/16/20 08:22 PM

What does % sold: 25 mean? What happens to the other 75%.

And "Mainly Unsold" - same question.

Re: FHA Press release - 09/16/20 08:27 PM

The other 75% are held over for the next auction.

Mainly unsold - not enough pelts of that species sold to make it worth talking about.

Didnt FHA say they would not allow any limits on dealer fur this year?

Re: FHA Press release - 09/17/20 12:51 AM

Yes. FH did not allow dealers to put limits on their fur that was consigned this season.

The rats I am talking about have been at FH long enough to be considered for Canadian citizenship. LOL

Buyers will continue to pass on those until they run out of the ones “on sale”.

Might be a good year to try some mountain trapping for taxidermy wolves and wolverine. Maybe a grizzly or two. Not too motivated to run many traps this year though.

At the bottom of the print out It say's sundry goods. I thought that that meant non dealer lots.

Me too.

Re: FHA Press release - 09/17/20 03:29 PM

Sundry goods are goods that have been intersorted from multiple shippers. The sale report does not include dealer goods in their own lots.

Dealers that ship small quantities of pelts are treated like trappers. Their pelts are in the intersorted lots.

Any idea when the sold catalog will be posted?

Re: FHA Press release - 09/18/20 03:03 PM

Probably at least a month. Based on how long it took them to post the April catalog. But I really have no idea.
