If u already have them don’t be afraid to use them, all kinds of guys catch yotes on Bridger 1 3/4, basically the same thing only beefier but if ur looking to buy traps I’d probably go bigger

They work fine for yotes. It started as an I'll show you moment (a fella told me a 1 1/2 size trap wouldn't catch yotes), but I used them for a few seasons elusively and have taken several hundred yotes in the little traps. I now run a larger trap most of the time, but still use the 450s on jobs that the rancher is worried about fido or if trapping in or near town. Not that a larger trap is harder on nontargets, but the little 450s have a better appearance for PR purposes.
This is my youngest with his first yote, in one of my old 450s. The little traps are more kid friendly than a lot of other traps too. wink

This yote is in a 450 and it held him until after work.

A live market trapper from WI traps in WI and several thousand acres in the south during the winter. He uses all 450s. That may be due to the live market and maybe southern yotes are smaller but the WI yotes he catches are typical eastern size coyotes.

I use them and like them in urban areas. More foot friendly than others. However placement and guiding is more important with a smaller trap. Big set spread and small traps equal that frustrating track just off the pan. Keep things tight. 450s will make you a fan of big traps but they definitely work well, hold well and have a place on my line.

You'll have more misses because of the small kill area, but they'll hold just fine

Andy,
Your boy is getting big! Poor kid, looks more like you every time I see him. LOL

I've got 100 450's and they are the cats meow working around farms and domestics. Strictly coyotes, I'd get 550's, but I don't feel I'm missing much.

Thanks fellas. I going to add some to my pile. I use almost exclusively 550s but want to try the smaller trap.

I run a mixed trap line and have no problem catching or holding our eastern yotes in 450s. If I was just trapping yotes I would probably run all 550s
