Time to empty the freezers

Time to empty the freezers - 10/06/20 12:55 PM

Finishing up drying the spring beavers and getting the freezers empty for this fall beaver haul.
Sent a bunch to the tanner yesterday, these are the last.
Made a small fire in the fur shed-its insulated so a small fire in the am each morning is sufficient to dry the pelts in 3 or 4 days even in this damp fall weather.

Good looking fur Boco. Just thinking about going to do a bit of scouting on my private line. Starting to get the itch with the cooler weather and all.

Those GSW pot bellied stoves are sure the workhorse of the north.

What is interesting is the main sales of them are to Chile. The owner flew with my uncle's crew during WW2.

Cool story North50 and I was admiring Boco's stove wondering where he had found it.

Those heaters are easy to pack around, nice and light, and come in 2 or 3 different sizes, your right 50,they are all over the northcountry. They are cheap to buy,I have a couple at each camp and stovepipe cached in the woodshed.
Some guys put sand in the bottom and the walls to make them last longer.

Had the same stove in our tent when I was in Manitoba hunting. Worked good
