Shaving question - 10/08/20 01:17 AM
I have noticed for many years that a shave from a new razor seems To shave me closer on the second shave than the first shave. Can any of our members explain this?

As the first blade gets duller, it pulls the hairs up more, allowing the second and any other subsequent blades to cut closer.

Well there I have it. Never thought of that reasoning but it seems logical to me.

Said the farmer,
Who's bald on top.
I wish I could,
Rotate the crop.

I think the new blades have a tiny burrs and roughness to them. During the first couple of shaves, the whiskers polish off the burr improving the sharpness of the razor's edge.
That's my theory.
