Wolf or Coyote

Found this skull the other day near an old moose kill. Coyotes are few around here and I have yet to see or catch one. That said, I have seen tracks and some others have taken a couple. So they are around. What do you think young wolf or big coyote? My guess is young wolf, but have no coyote to compare it to. It is next to an average sized adult wolf skull for comparison.

I would say wolf. Coyotes have sharper teeth.

The size of the nasal opening will give you a good indication.Wolf noses are over an inch in width,coyotes under.The only overlap would be a very small pup wolf.and the skull sutures and tooth nerve cavity will tell you that.

I am leaning more and more towards wolf. The width of the nasal cavity is exactly one inch. The cavity of the cleaned skull is 1 1/16 inch.

Where is the guy who said wolves have no forehead slope?
