I am putting in a roller type machine and wonder if 440 or 880 Size is best. Doing coyotes. Thanks

I got the 440 lb hoist from Harbor Freight and it works very well. Mine is not on the roller type though.

I just used a 12 volt atv winch, 2500lb. Hook the battery charger up to it when I need it. I think I've used it for 5 or 6 years now. $59.00 at Harbor Freight.

440 hoist is plenty. The 880 is only $20 more so if you're worried go with that. They are under $80 for the 440 at harbor freight, search google for the 20% off coupon.

No way I'd mess with a slow moving 12v. winch, battery and all that for $20 difference, unless I didn't have electricity in the fur shed.

My first Skinner was set up with a boat winch and I used a Milwaukee right angle drill to turn It. I burned out the drill so then I went a 12volt winch. I skinned a lot of coons with It but It was a bit slow. I had to run It through a 12 volt battery with the battery charger hooked up to the battery. That was about 25 years ago.
Now have I have 440 Harbor Freight 110 winch.
