Deer mount pics

It's hunting season so we may as well start a thread showing off everyone's trophy bucks. I think this will be a neat little thread. I'll have to take a few pics if my little deer when I get home.

Part of the archery wall. And the wife and I had a heated discussion about her hanging that huge wedding pic on my archery wall. Y'all see who won that dispute...

If you want to do a shoulder mount, what's the process when field dressing?

I would like to have at least one in my lifetime here.

Stop the ventral cut well below the brisket. Dorsal cut straight up the back of the neck from the shoulders to the base of the antlers.

You do that to field dress????

Just gut it but don't cut thru the brisket.... Reach up to get the heart and lungs out. But I don't cut up the neck at all.

Stop splitting it at the brisket, like was said. Save money at the taxidermist and don't cut up the back of the neck. I've been a butcher at a locker for 25 years, caped literally hundreds of bucks for shoulder mounts. Every year I get guys with a nice buck that want to mount it that have split it to the jaw field dressing it. I tell them to let me do it next time

Only 2 of those are from SE Ga....far left shoulder mount and far right shoulder mount. Mount in middle and all the racks are from north Missouri.

The bucks were taken about a 1/2 mile apart and 2 years a part. The left is rifle harvest.

Here's my only mount. Buck taken in 2011 with my flintlock.

I love this mount. Unique.

I think that's the coolest mount I've ever seen.

Don't forget european style skull mounts look great too don't be afraid to show off those beuties
