Hey B&B is this a "tank" - 10/26/20 01:50 PM

I think this one would be considered a tank anywhere north or south.

I wouldn't pass it up and would be happy if that was an "average" deer.

That's a deer, not a tank.

Seriously, if you midwest guys sit in a tree stand for hours and let that deer walk by I would say you need more things to do in your life. Deer hunting means shooting deer. Shoot one and move on. Nobody is going to care if you shoot a deer

Nice deer, but not a trophy.
I've had bucks given to me that were shot during rut that were inedible.
I will shoot a young buck or doe before rut for eating.

LOL sorry killbuck discussion has been over body size. I posted a pic of a buck that I said was huge for AROUND HERE ! But was immediately corrected on how it was just a typical deer Northerners were talking last week how their deer were bigger than down here. I posted that ky was number 2 all time in typical and number 7 non-typical antler score.

Depends on who is the hunter !! Let a 12 year old kill it and you tell him that's not a trophy. Let someone diagnosed with terminal cancer shoot him and look him in the eye and say "Nice deer, but not a trophy" . I hunt horns and meat. Love to deer hunt but I'm not going to EVER say any deer is not trophy.

Your Britannica source is obviously considering the South as more of a cultural/political region rather than a geographic/climate one. If we go by growing zone, KY is mostly zone 6
