Change the meaning of words, erase history burn the books, kill those that oppose you. Standard play book.

A protest is by definition Peaceful there for there is no need to add anything to it such as mostly peaceful. If it's not peaceful it's a riot no longer a protest. At least that's my .02

A protestor "peacefully" rammed a police line with a pickup truck running over one.

When will these tools catch on that the thin blue line is protecting them from at least some segments of the population who would put them all down like rabid dogs?

After the election maybe?

If Biden is elected, it will be standard practice to charge officers with murder if they shoot for anything other than being shot at first.

Re: Another peaceful protest - 10/28/20 06:03 AM

Officers have some obligation to protect society. Running around with a knife and failing to drop it as ordered is a good way to get shot. In Alaska, people have been shot for swinging a broom stick, for knives, for holding a pistol by their side but not pointing it, etc. However, with the current turmoil, one would think police would go to a little extra effort to disarm someone without killing them. Guns are one thing. Why do they carry, and why are they trained to use tazers, bear spray, or whatever other non lethal means they have to neutralise bad guys. we don't want officers killed, but neither do we want them thinking they are above public opinion.

Charge at me or my family with a knife and you'll get the same response

You know nothing about lethal force and self defence if you think cops should treat potential knife attacks different then guns. Fill your boots if you want to take pepper spray to a knife fight. Cops have to be supported in using lethal force against knife attack if the expectation is that they'll go home to their families at the end of the day.

Couldn’t find where they did but one indicator could be reported crime is down.

They are boasting that crime is down however the graph just indicates “reported” crime is down. Who do you report crime to if there is no police?

Seattle isn't disbanding the police. They are taking away a large percentage of the funding, reducing patrol officers and eliminating necessary programs for public safety.

Also putting forward a proposal that drug users, poor and mentally unbalanced are not to be charged/prosecuted for misdemeanor crimes. Effectively making it legal to steal, assault and trespass/squat on the law abiding populace. This is being run through as part of the budget. Apparently reducing police funding includes openly allowing crime that has real victims.

I'm failing to come up with a fair description of the local issues without using profanity.

How can an individual, in the running to lead the free world, be that stupid. Not to mention that he probably has a team of advisers counselling him on what to say and what not to say.

Shooting him the leg would have been my first choice. Preferably with a sawed off double barrel loaded with #4 Buck. Perp would not have had a leg left to stand on......but would have at least hit the ground alive.

Shotguns at close range being an underappreciated defensive weapon.

Those cops who had to deal with that deranged man dealt with his threat level with a very appropriate level of response. Shoot until the threat is stopped. They were protecting the public and themselves. A leg is not an appropriate place to aim to stop that level of threat. Center mass, pumps and pipes, until no longer a treat.

Straight up, some people need shot, that clown ft the criteria.

They need to start shootin them types about 10 inches below their belt buckle and then break out the salt shakers to try and stop the bleeding. Or just let him bleed if he's really throwing a fit.

Disturbing video to watch but it shows what one crazed individual with a knife can do against several armed LE personnel. About the six minute mark is where things start to go really bad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75RTkGbiJpk

Over 20 officers injured and 200 people arrested between the 2 nights of "protests".

I tend to agree. With any luck the elections from the POTUS on down to state and city races puts a bunch of law and order leaders in place b4 it gets ugly (Ok- b4 it gets uglier)
