Carrots and onions. With thyme. She didn't add celery. She did add 3 teaspoons of this stuff. Never heard of it but it's made a difference.

I wondered some people use vegetables, I personally don't too much gas the way it is, the broth base is like bouillon cubes in liquid form it works good when you dont have time to make stock it also adds a lot of flavor even if you do have stock.

we have been making ham and been soup a fair amount lately
don't use stock , we make it right in the pot
1 part carrot diced , 1 part celery diced , 2 part onion diced and a diced up ham approximately 2 parts ham cook down the vegetables with a little salt and a bit of oil. then add the ham and some water a couple bay leaf and beans let it simmer a while when you can't tell the carrots are in there serve.
