A few years ago, for a few months, we had a tiny screech owl that hunted in and by 2 of our barns. We could walk past it within a foot or two. I don't think it thought we could see it. If we stopped and took pictures, it would get nervous and fly to the other barn. We enjoyed seeing it. Occasionally we would see it eating a mouse.

I've had them follow me around while coon hunting. i think they were eating moths and such that were attracted to my light. I have a hard time believing that the Owl stayed in the tree while it was felled and stayed in it while it was transported.

That owl is awesome compared to the tree. Charlie Brown had a better tree

Now they're going to want to close down Owl hunting season in New York or at a minimum lower the daily limit.

I placed three Saw Whet owl nest boxes on our property this fall in the hopes of attracting a breeding pair in late winter. The Saw Whet owls are excellent hunters of voles and mice which we would like to see less of!

That’s a neat way of doing nesting boxes.

Or Cuomo and the enviro wackos will make you have to do a environmental study before you cut down a Christmas tree.
