Duke 110 chain? - 12/09/20 04:47 AM

Buddy is getting some trapping items into his archery shop. The Duke 110's he got have chains that have the ends of the links sticking out. Is this common? They can snag clothing, skin, fur...

I’m a Bridger man have been since my friend rat trap (duke 1.5) cut me with the burs it had on it. Had a terrible duke #2 that would not set properly even after lots of work. Then I have had some good dukes it depends but Bridger has my vote!

There was an issue several years ago at a convention where kids were winning traps that had this defect. They all had the same serial batch number.

Cut it off - replace - move on.

Should the dealer do that, or should he sell them cheap so someone only has the same price in them after buying and replacing the chain?

110 traps should have 2 links left on for a tag, that's it. Doesn't excuse shoddy workmanship.

Looks like leftovers from their move to Vietnam manufacturing. I cut the chains off 3 dozen and replaced them with cable. No way I was going to hand those sharp chains to a youngster. I would not even attempt to use them myself!

Wouldnt the postage kill the deal? So Vietnam is where the quality starts to kick in?

I'm sure Duke will cover the postage too. Just give Bill a call.

Quality issue aside - I cut the chains off all my small bodygrips. A lot fewer tangled messes and headaches
