From what I have read on that video, he gives dewormer to all the Raccoons he feeds. He SAYS there is no Rabies in his part of Canada.

My pleasure to enlighten;

Baylisascaris procyonis, common name raccoon roundworm;
is a roundworm nematode.
Infection of the eyes may result in permanent visual damage and loss.
Raccoons therefore are important in maintaining the parasite, providing a source of infection for humans and other animals.

It's eggs are shed in the feces. About the size of a grain of sand. Getting one induced orally by touching something contaminated and getting it into your mouth. I bet there are thousands of roundworm eggs on that deck. They eggs live outside the host animal easily for a long period of time. Very hard to kill the eggs.

Well, he can feed them the same way by "feel" only in a few years.

Last spring I caught 17 coon in three weeks and I took them a couple miles away and released them all alive but with a red tail I painted to see if they would come back, none of them did. All the neighbors shot there catches. They tell me that they will not make it in a new location. Not sure.

Thank you Mark, that is good information, I had no idea. Guess I should be extra careful if I ever skin a coon again

Did not watch the video but based on watching the youtube clips on buying fur at $3.50 each there is about $100 worth of fur on the porch. Can't buy much pet food with that amount of money. Wonder what the coon toilet looks like?

I can't remember if its this guy or another "coon whisperer" who had a video were he said he gets bit fairly regular in feeding them. I think that was another guy in either PA or MI. He didn't have as many on the porch at one time as this guy.

I wonder what mostly hot dog coon fat rendered down tastes like...?
