I really need to get over the bay and visit my neighbors in South Jersey.

Ron and Newt, two of my four favorite people from the state of New Jersey.

Still hoping to get over to the basic trappers course.

Newt is the real deal. Met him at the Trappers College.

Haven't taken his snare class , snares are not legal in my state.

I Bet it is a good class.

We teach alot more than Basics Rob.

Most fur trappers target to first easy 80 percent
Our goal is to teach you to catch to 20* trappers leave behind. Because they are the hardest to catch. The 80* will fill your traps/snares,in the mean while.
When you can catch that 20*
Your a REAL trapper.

We teach much more than snares.
Plus- When your learn snaring teckneks. You get a better knolage of LOCATION.
LOCATION being the hardest thing most trappers have a problem with.

Morgan still a part of it?

Re: Newt's South Jersey Trapping&Snaring School - 12/21/20 03:24 PM

Yes he is coop. Newt, Morgan and I not only learned from many years of fur trapping and ADC for a living, but we have also taken instructions from great trappers and what we learned was brought home and was applied with setting cable here. I can tell you what I learned from Marks academy with coyote habits and behaviors came back and is used in hanging cable here. Things learned at mink fest with foot traps came home to be used with cable. Many states are allowing cable now either snares or CR's. Most of the folks coming are coming to learn not the obvious things, with average trapper having 20 plus years of trapping, they know them already, but come to learn the little things that make the difference in setting cable. but be advised the meadow trapping instructions have claimed a few in the past classes. LOL Delaware Bob we are having the state course in the spring around April, It would be great to have you there to bounce ideas off each other for the state courses. We had some Del trappers take our state course this year.

SOUTH JERSEY TRAPPING AND SNARING SCHOOL

Re: Newt's South Jersey Trapping&Snaring School - 12/22/20 01:15 PM

I was there several years ago and I liked it a lot. No fancy stuff just straight down to earth (or swamp) trapping-snaring info. I to was hooked up with Morgan, good guy......jk

Waight watchers, but most work it off in the meadows.

Re: Newt's South Jersey Trapping&Snaring School - 12/27/20 11:52 PM

We have only medi vac 2 out of the meadows, that pretty good odds. The rest was able to float to a point and we could get them on the atv LOL

No turtle soup, Think the one year I brought my daughter down to pick up some traps you guys had made turtle?

Re: Newt's South Jersey Trapping&Snaring School - 01/03/21 01:14 AM

The only reason I started doing the school with Newt was because of the turtle soup. Thinking of not doing it anymore since he hasn't made it in a year or 2.

One of these years, I'm going to crash this party and REALLY enjoy good time with good friends.
Newt and Ron are both class acts and a gift to all trappers.
Great trappers. Great teachers. Super enjoyable to be around A-Z.
If you have not attended their course, you should.
Blessings to you both.
