Don't miss Jesus this 2020 Christmas - 12/25/20 11:58 AM

The miraculous story, so that all would know, of our Creator & Messiah is rich in majesty and wonder.

1400 years before Jesus, a Messiah (Hebrew, meaning the "one who is anointed" or Christ in Greek (christós), meaning "anointed one") was prophesied by Balaam in his oracle from God;
Included in this oracle was the fact that a star would be the sign of the Messiah;
“I see him, but not now;
I behold him, but not near;
A star shall come forth from Jacob,
A scepter shall rise from Israel,
And shall crush through the forehead of Moab,
And tear down all the sons of Sheth.
(Num. 24:17)

700 years before the Messiah, the prophet Isaiah (Hebrew: means Yahweh Saves) foretold the coming Messiah in explicit detail;
“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14)

"For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace,
On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this."
(Isaiah 9:6-7)

The prophet Micah prophesied during the same time period as Isaiah
over 700 years before the Messiah would be born.
Micah (Hebrew: means "True Religion)
And this prophet, chosen by God, prophesied as to where the Messiah would be born.
Not in the grand capital city of Jerusalem, but rather in a small town that few would even go to.
Bethlehem. As the song we sing says, "O little town of Bethlehem."
“But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,

Too little to be among the clans of Judah,
From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel.
His goings forth are from long ago,
From the days of eternity.”
Therefore He will give them up until the time
When she who is in labor has borne a child.
Then the remainder of His brethren
Will return to the sons of Israel.
And He will arise and shepherd His flock
In the strength of the Lord,
In the majesty of the name of the LORD His God.
And they will remain,
Because at that time He will be great
To the ends of the earth.

(Micah 5:2-4)

Ever wonder how the wise men (there were more than 3), pagans from the East, would travel 1,000 miles to ask the pseudo king of the Jews at that time (Herod), "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? and why they would travel that far into a foreign land? They knew the prophecies. And they saw the Glory of the Messiah's Star in the sky and knew exactly what that meant. So they brought gifts, knelt at an infant's feet, and worshiped Him.

These wise men didn't "miss it."
Yet the religious leaders of Jesus' day did.
The baby had been born as foretold.
He was the Messiah.
He was God's Son on earth.

Then the Gospel is written (Luke) to describe how the birth of the Messiah came about;

Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,
in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child.
While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth.
And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night.
And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;
for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
“This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.”
When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, “Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us.”
So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger.
When they had seen this, they made known the statement which had been told them about this Child.
And all who heard it wondered at the things which were told them by the shepherds.
But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart.
The shepherds went back, glorifying and praising God for all that they had heard and seen, just as had been told them.

(Luke 2:4–20).

We pray today, almost 2,000 years after that God who became man,
ministered to the meek and outcast,
touched people with diseases that no person would even go near (lepers),
who was blameless yet took death as a part of God's Redemptive plan,
was buried for 3 days,
and rose from the grave
to testify to His power and fulfill all prophecy about Him and His Resurrection power
walked among hundreds
And ascended into the Heavens in front of those He discipled for 3 years.

Jesus remains the only perfect Truth in our world today.
Don't miss it.
Merry Christmas y'all!

Teach your children and grandchildren that this is a special day of remembrance,
So that they don't miss it.

Blessings,
Mark

It's always good to know where we put our hope! Without Christ, we would be of all men, most miserable.

Thank you Mark

God gave us the greatest gift one could ever receive at a price that none of us would want to pay.
Eternal life at the cost of the life of The Son

Merry Christmas to you Mr June and to all. Jesus is the true reason for the season. I accepted him in my mid life. Feared death and the unknown before that event. Now I have an inner peace and understanding of what God wanted for this world... and for me. Happy B Day Jesus..... and thank you God !
