question for the ages - 12/27/20 01:38 PM

Why do they call those wonderful Pork & Beans Pork & Beans. There is only one piece of BACON in them. They should be call beans & pork. My suggestion is, instead of changing the name they put all BACON and one bean to correct the situation. What say you?

Agreed
But dad remedied that over 40 yrs ago by buying a pack of bacon pieces and bits and after frying up mixing with the beans.
Had it camping a lot but even at home sometimes.

Always store you B&B upside down so when you eat the out of the can most of the liquid is on the bottom. If you like B&B you got to love spam!

Me, too, favorite part. Maybe you've heard of B&M Baked Beans. They're just a couple, three hundred miles south of me. Heck of a commute but it might be worth it for the employee discount.

It's more like--a piece of pork fat and beans.
One of my favorite meals--brown 11/2 pounds of hamburger add 1 diced onions, after browning add 4 16 ounce cans of pork and beans, stir well and allow to simmer for a half hour.
While it is great the first time,it is even better reheated the next day.

For some reason, that amount of beans does not have an adverse affect on me. Though I can't say the same for my wife--all she has to do is smell it,and its off to the bathroom for her.
