Shootings every night sometimes multiple. If it's not shootings it's stabbings or drunk drivers speeding. Been west of Portland for 26 years and I refuse to go into town besides driving thru to Washington on interstate 5

Re: Defund the police - Portland - 12/29/20 03:33 AM

The only people voting liberal are people in Portland Eugene and Salem. Basically all of I 5 from Washington to California. Everything else is either both or Republicans. Every farmer I know voted Republican. The further from I 5 the more republican it gets.

Portland PD can't get help from other PD'S because they refused to help other county's when the other county's asked for help from Portland PD. True story. Even when Kate Brown( governor)requested help they denied.

The degradation of Or is why my parents who were both born and raised in Or finally left and noved to Nevada. They couldn't watch or handle it any more.

Re: Defund the police - Portland - 12/29/20 04:09 AM

there are nice people in Portland who didn't vote for this.

I was working with a lady on a project this year who lives in Portland she was looking to take her 12 year old son shooting. I worked a shoot with a firearms instructor last year who is just across the river in Vancouver Washington.

I don't want to see the good people suffer.

Other local agency’s were/are willing to help Portland. However they won’t be held to the same restrictions that Portland has been reduced to by the mayor and council. Two local Sheriffs said they would not allow their deputies to be in a war zone without the required tools at their disposal to do their job and more importantly defend themselves. Or the local DA not willing to prosecute any person who’s ideals he doesn’t aligns with. There’s help ready and waiting. It’s up to Portland to hold up their end first. Even the Portland Police want to do their jobs but are not allowed. Commie Kate got an eye opener when the Sheriff’s she tried to order in, told her to pound sand. Our esteemed ruler didn’t like that.

There’s a lot of good people in Portland. For those of you who say they should move, could you up and move at a moment’s notice if this was your home? It sounds good to those not living in the reality going on around them.

I support the blue 100% of the way.

I DO NOT support the politicians who have tied their hands and endangered the LEO'S.

LET THEM DO THEIR JOB AND RESTORE LAW AND ORDER.

Prayers for your brother in law and the very difficult line he has to tread.

Good for them. Hope, Las Vegas doesn’t turn Nevada into another Oregon. It looks like it is starting to.

It's too late , the governor of Nevada has an office in Vegas where all the ex-cali libtards voted for him

Spends little time at the State capital in northern Nevada where no one likes him

Prayer from PA. Very hard to do a Job without the tools and support.
my stance:
I live in Pa . If you are a law enforcement officer and need a break, you can come park outside my home. If you are thirsty I will bring you a drink. If you are hungry I will fix you food. If you are hot I will invite you inside to cool off. If you need additional ammo just ask. If you need backup, I will stand with you. If you need to cry, I will hug you and let you. If you need to talk I will listen. If you need to pray, I will kneel with you. If you are wrong, I will tell you. If you are right I will support you.
I only ask that you don't lose faith in Americans. We are NOT all against you. Take off your sunglasses and see the good people that are here for you. Albeit, we are not as loud and obnoxious as these media seekers, we are strong and waiting to follow your lead.
God Bless you and your family.

I have family that works close with Sheriff Pat Garrett of Washington County who is one of the people who said he's aren't sending people down there.

there have got to be more , it is really sad that some of you are leaving your home lands being pushed out. Idaho is nice but it will just be the next place they come to ruin.

Re: Defund the police - Portland - 12/29/20 06:54 PM

Most but not all Police Dept.& Fire Dept. have mutual aid agreement. An example of a mutual agreement. Our Fire Department has a wild fire and our department does not have the man power to stop the wild fire, they will call in another department that they have an agreement with to come and help. But the agreement goes both ways, if we call in another department and they do not want to respond and do not have a good reason, when it is time to sign and new agreement most department will not because you will not give us a hand when needed.
In parts of Michigan small department could not respond to lots of fire without mutual add. Very hard to get new people on Fire Department in our area. We now have a 3 toned mutual add response.

Re: Defund the police - Portland - 12/29/20 07:13 PM

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Goofy Cuomo release a bunch of inmates back out on the streets? Why? So, they can police the streets? That should help crime in NY.

In the Twin Cities I heard a police commissioner say shootings were up 110% in 2020 from 2019. The Minneapolis city council voted to defund the police. Some on the council actually voted to disband the police department completely. One of them was the Attorney General Keith Ellison's kid, Jeremiah Ellison. He was one of those who wanted to dismantle the police department entirely. Of course, he and his crazy father are democrats.

Meant the liberal garbage. Should have been more specific. Hillbilly trappers and supporters of the second amendment always welcomed.

Doesn’t part of rural Oregon want to become a part of Idaho?

I'm good with becoming part of Idaho. The last lines on the map that I saw made it so that I would have to move about an hour to make the state line -- I might be able to talk the wife into that. I will go collect signatures if thats all it takes.

I have had up to five cruisers at once in my driveway just taking a break and visiting. First old neighbor lady called .I wife to see if I was in trouble. Sandy told her no that are just taking a break.
