Camera Recommendation

Camera Recommendation - 12/30/20 07:30 AM

I am looking at retiring the Canon PowerShot Elph 180. I have been using it for pictures and filming. I keep it on the inside pocket of my coat. I like how small it is, but need something a little more sturdy without having to carry around a hard case.

I need recommendations.

Preferences:
-Under $500
-On the small side
-Decent Battery life
-Does well in cold (I keep my current one inside my coat for thus reason)
-Sturdy (not necessarily heavy)
-Good for video and pictures
-Tripod/mount compatible

If you can include a link to your recommendation. Thanks for any input!

Just get a cellphone with a goog camera. I have a google pixel 4a and the camera is better than most non-DSLR model cameras.
I think I phones have really good cameras also

Look at the Canon PowerShot SX540HS, nice mid size camera with a good zoom lens. Not sure if a a big zoom lens is what your looking for or you want something smaller with less reach.

Nikon B600 is another good one if your a Nikon fan. I used a Nikon P900 (big brother to this camera) for several years and never had any issues with it.

I have been using the Fuji XP130- it is water proof down to 65 ft, shock proof, freeze proof, and less than 1/2 of your budget. It is one heck of a camera for work or play.

Thank you for the replies. I will look at each one of these. I thought some cell phones have good cameras, but I am not sure it is worth it as I don't ever use a cell phone and not sure it is worth buying one just for the camera.
