My elders have passed down many good sayings over the years, lets hear yours. I will start

Never waist your time arguing with idiots, if they had the capacity to understand rational thought you wouldn't be arguing with them anyway.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.
And that grandpa had nickname's for everyone, what a character.
And other grandpa would always say take care of it like your gonna own it forever.
He was a mechanic and owned a gas station, he would go out and see people just stop in to air up tubes or tires
And he tell'em to get your air where you get your gas. laugh
My wife said I better put my saying in to "run it like a rental"
And "it'll buff out" .

Re: words of wisdom - 12/31/20 08:52 PM

If it's got teats or tires it's gonna give you trouble.
Never trust a man with a limp handshake.
All that laughing is going to lead to crying
If your dog doesn't like someone you shouldn't either

Anything worth doing is worth doing well. And take pride in your work. Think a lot of folks have lost this one as many do shoddy work now a days.
Old trapper told me once anyplace worth setting is worth setting several traps. I never get out of the truck to make sets without at least two traps and usually more.

Andrew- another one of his fav things to say was that a good horse doesn't come in a bad color. We all lived next to the reservation and he would occasionally say that when a cute native girl turned out to be good with a horse of a set of cattle.
