Getting the itch again.

Got all my gear ready yesterday....was going to get on the hard water this morning....until I saw the 15 mph wind. I will get aftah it next weekend for sure

Anyone on here trapping ?

Have my shanty out for more then a week and went 6 times and only had one flag so far. Can have three lines so far only the one bite and one pike 29 1/2 inches. Not a lot of other getting any. Only ones getting fish are using dead bait on the bottom .

There's ice here but I ain't been out yet. Just got back from warm weather a couple days ago. I might go back to warm.

I'm spearing and trapping rats on the same lake. Variety is good

Went for an hour yesterday at dusk. Caught a 26 inch northern and missed another flag. No walleyes. Nice night - no wind.

Yep, but only about 4-5 inches so not too bad. Tried something new today for cutting holes. Used an old one-man cross cut saw. Spudded a hole big enough to get the saw in and it but clean as a whistle. A lot easier on the back and arms too.

I know I have one of the poles in a good spot. After I got the hole cut and cleaned out my Lab and I heard something thumping under the ice coming toward us. As I stood there a beaver swam under the hole dragging a log or something.

Getting limits on pike just about every trip, 28"-39".
Largest roaches you can find (5-6") just under the ice in 3 feet of water.

A nice mixed bag today. Fished dawn til dusk. Tip down produced the most fish.

How big would you say that one is?

To small for me to spear. 3-3 1/2 lbs He is just under the ice. I leave them in the lake unless I need a fish to eat. They keep best there.

Just got back from a two day Adirondack ice fishing trip. Fishing was slow, but still caught some fish and had some fun.
