new gun law - 01/20/21 10:40 PM

Part of Bidens new gun laws will be to end sale of firearms, ammunition, kits and gun parts through the mail in any form.

Hopefully it takes them at least 24 hours to go through. I ordered a new semi-auto (assault) shotgun and it just arrived at my FFL today but I can't pick it up until tomorrow.

The way the news story read it would be an executive order.

Between Abbott and Paxton Texas may soon be a 2A sanctuary state!

I am told there might be as many as 10 other states do the same thing! What would Biden do take us to the supreme court? Near as I can tell they aren't listening to firearms cases LOL

I agree but if the supreme court refuses to hear our case where will that leave us?

almost 1/3 of the US counties are 2A sanctuary last week when I was looking it up to present to out county public safety committee we are one step further , on to the board now.
876 counties and 4 states added up it is just shy of 1/3 of all counties in the country , it would be great if we could get that closer to half , as people feel the threat I think it will grow quickly.

This is when the Democrat controlled Congress will use Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution. They will claim it falls under the commerce clause.

I agree. I don’t think the Supreme Court will find justification to over turn an order like that. The order he has talked about doesn’t keep us from getting gun parts or ammo, just limits the way we are able to get them. So an order like that won’t infringe on our right to have guns, parts or ammunition. That’s why he hasn’t mentioned an all out ban (post election). He knows the courts will over throw it no matter who controls the courts.

the thing is they do not have the federal agents to enforce even a fraction of what they are planning. they will be passing laws that they will be asking and frequently with no budget associated with it for local LE agencies to enforce.

what the 2nd amendment resolution does is it gives the LE of the county the discretion to say , not go looking for ways to make the citizens criminals.
just like the Illegal alien sanctuary cities do. The federal law states that illegal immigrants must be reported to ICE , "sanctuary cities" don't report . I assume they just ignore the question on the form and make sure to never ask even if they had to bring in an interpreter for every part of the arrest , questioning ,arraignment , trial and sentencing.

Re: new gun law - 01/21/21 03:23 AM

Great explanation as always Pete but think bigger- forget cities or counties (parishes in Louisiana) and lets see how many states will join in. 11 this year would be great and 11 more next year even better

Re: new gun law - 01/21/21 03:52 AM

Look at how quickly and relatively easily they shut down Parler. Where/how do you order most of your guns and ammo and parts to be shipped by mail? Online. Doesn't matter one bit what your local sheriffs said they will or won't enforce if sites like gunbroker and PSA simply vanish from the internet.

I've just declared my farm a 2nd amendment sanctuary farm. Used to be a first amendment sanctuary, then I got married.

This executive order thing is getting out of hand. The president or a governor is not a king or queen. They have no authority to pass law with a decree.

Re: new gun law - 01/21/21 03:07 PM

With the government legalizing pot and hard drugs, criminals will look to other things to sell. If all these gun laws come to fruition , looks like the feds are setting someone up to make a fortune selling guns on the black market. Necessity is the mother of invention. Maybe in the future, instead of bootleg whiskey, it will be bootleg firearms ? Remember banning booze didn’t stop its sales in the USA.

"the thing is they do not have the federal agents to enforce even a fraction of what they are planning. they will be passing laws that they will be asking and frequently with no budget associated with it for local LE agencies to enforce."

Govt has no problem spending money they don't have. IMO, this argument is moot.

Biden will load SCOTUS to vote left before he lets it get that far. He's just moving ahead with Obama's plans which Trump had stopped.

Re: new gun law - 01/22/21 04:56 AM

I'm purdy sure there has to be a vacancy before anyone can load anything. Texas is finding new ways to thumb their nose at any type of executive order so maybe we will also invite the firearms and ammo manufactures down here and give them tax amnesty until 2024
