Think it's supposed to be a way to compress the springs a la the rope method

Not new, but you need to get good zip ties, like the ones they use for hand cuffs, it's a tool for non- trappers to carry so they can get a body grip off in a hurry. I think it would be hard to do one handed.

If your going to cut a jaw you might as well use a cordless dremel with a cutting wheel.

It is a method fast simple method of making a BG non lethal for persons that are not familiar(or strong enough) in the setting of them to rescue a pet that has gotten into one. Even if only one. Spring at time can be partially compressed it can be held without using safety clip making trap non lethal until until it can be removed. Some trappers and their associations give them away(in kits w/direction to use them). A positive action to help keep BGs from being further restricted. Have instructed many and even youths in effectively using them. Very well received by individuals of other users of the lands we share that are concerned about their pets.
