Lots of different answers online so I’m asking anybody that has been through it.

All of the guys that travel where I work have had to quarantine for 2 weeks. Starts the day they get to where they are going.

So when does it start when you have covid.
Example: Fever on Sunday, positive test back on Wednesday, does the clock start from symptoms or test result?

Okay, that situation would be first day of symptoms, for where I work. Everyone seems to have their own rules.

Usually it's when either your employer or health department tells you to quarantine.

Re: When does a Quarantine - 01/26/21 02:35 PM
Today is my last day, tested negative for two different flu strains and covid and still had to quarantine 10 days.
the word quarantine derived from Italian quarntra meaning 40
became quarntina meaning 40 days
became quarantine in later language the 40 days a ship would be required to lay in anchor before loading or unloading cargo to insure no spread of disease
if you have a positive covid test you isolate for 10 days post results of test
if you had contact with a covid positive person you get a 14 day stay away the maximum incubation period as they understand it

Hobbie, Here's how mine, my wife's, and our sons went.
My wife developed some symptoms on a Tuesday. I did as well the same day.
My wife had a slight fever and a cough the following Sunday.
She got tested. Came back positive.
Because of close contact with her, my son and I both tested that day.
I tested positive, him negative.
Mine and my wife's quarantine was 14 days from onset of symptoms. 10 days of actual quarantine, from positive test.
Our son's quarantine was our 10 days, plus 14 of his own.
We had 10 days of actual quarantine. He had 24.
now who is contact tracing and if you get a negative test you may be able to get off early
some of the police departments to be able to keep staff have done 5 days post contact get tested and with a negative test you may return to work.

Re: When does a Quarantine - 01/26/21 03:25 PM
Has anyone told/required you to quarantine? From your statements I'm assuming not. Under this assumption, you're not in quarantine.
if the county health department hasn't issued you a quarantine order and given your info to the police your not really in quarantine
even when you are you are allowed essential tasks like curb side pick up of groceries.
you are required by law to check your traps so it sounds essential to me
being a good person you just avoid other people
if the whole town/ county knows you have it and you hosted the super spreader event for the county , stay out of the McDonald . yes that happened

So when does it start when you have covid.
Example: Fever on Sunday, positive test back on Wednesday, does the clock start from symptoms or test result?
County health Dept told my son from day he was tested
Came back + a few days latter. No symptoms til next day.

Fever has been the only symptom. We are 9 days in.

Think it was 1 day after symptoms gone for those that tested positive.
So my son WITH it, will get out before those of us with out it!
Think household transmittance rate runs right around 50%

Interesting thread. My wife got the vaccine exactly one week ago today. Sunday she was having bad headaches and today she started running a fever, so I’ve taken tomorrow off while she goes to get tested to make sure it’s not Covid. Neither CJ or I have any symptoms at this time. I’m guessing my quarantine would start tomorrow if her test comes back positive.

Tomorrow is 10 days for the wife and I, Sunday will be 14
We had symptoms last Monday, were tested last Friday, both positive. Both of us still not even close to feeling better. I do not know at this stage if I will be able to trap during the rest of the season (it goes til March 15). I know I will not make the rest of beaver season.
Interesting thing in NJ you cannot get meds for covid from a doc, you have to be admitted to the hospital to receive them. To get in a hospital you must have "severe" symptoms.
