Awesome evening trap check!

Took my son with me this evening to check traps at my buddy’s property. He must be my lucky charm! Doubled up on bobcats. This makes 3 cats I have trapped off this property in less than a week.

They love those small pines. Rabbits and rats everywhere.

Thanks guys! I feel blessed that my son was able to tag along and witness what ol dad gets so excited about. He always wants to go check traps with me in the mornings but with him having school and me a full time job to govto afterwards he never gets to go with me.

What kind of traps do you use i live in wv were only allowed a 3 cat limit which sucks cause there are bobcats thicker than coyotes where i live

No BS K9 Jrs. I wish we could use No. 3 size or bigger traps but we are restricted to No.2 size for land trapping.

Very cool. Nice looking cats and great that you could share the experience with your son.

If I remember right on the one catch at the portable pocket set I had sheeps wool and some of Mr. June’s widowmaker bait in it. The other three catches in the trench set I just had broken eggshells for eye appeal and some bobcat urine for the first 2. Then for the 3rd I had used coyote urine. Still had the eggshells in the back of the trench each time.

Guys does anyone out there know a place where I can send my furs in to have a blanket made? I used to know of a website that seemed like a pretty good place but for the life of me I can’t remember the name. I believe it was a preacher who trapped that owns it. Somewhere in West Virginia or ?????? Anyone else know of any reputable sources?

To be honest I have never sold fur. I have heard too many old timers around here say southern fur has no market. They only want northern fur.

what do you do with fur you catch ?

I will mount about 3 of them. The others I will tan out and try to find a place to have a blanket made. I think a beaver blanket with bobcat trim would look pretty sharp.

I must have wiped out the bobcats on my buddy’s property. Im finally getting on coyotes.

Happy I got this one but I also had a pull out not far from this one. In a perfect world I would love to think that this one pull out and travelled down the road and got caught in this other trap but chances are good there is an educated coyote out there this evening. Sucks. Had a good fight circle around it.

I love this property. One old logging road straight through it. I put sets all up and down it.
