Back in the Hospital..

Back in the Hospital.. - 02/13/21 01:52 AM

First, Mom could not get a hold of her DR. Calls Pharmacy up to get prescription filled. Find out from the Pharmacist that the pills won't be in till Wednesday. Gets the prescription on Wednesday. Looked at the bottle, and can see that the Generic Lasix is a different shape, and from a different company. For 3 days, Mom did not have her pills in stock, and then after taking them for 3 days after she got them, we find out the new brand doesn't work !!!! shocked Got her in the Hospital now with an IV, to try to get the leg swelling, and redness down on both legs and feet. I asked the Nurse, when they will be sending Mom home. She said " we will have to see how things go".

Not looking good !!!

Found out Mom also has an infection in both of her legs. Nurse said that antibiotics "should" work. "If they don't , Her Primary Doc will have to try something else" frown

Doc called. Discharging Mom today. Sending Mom home with some stronger meds to bring down the infection and swelling in the legs.

With the right course of antibiotics it can be gone in a week. The major symptoms will be gone in a few days. But to totally eliminate it she'll need to finish the total course. It's usually a 7-10 day course.

This is my last cellulitis.

Canvasback I had cellulitis a long time ago, I think I was down for a week. Had it in my ankle area and I had to keep it elevated for 3-5 days straight. The surgeon even mentioned amputation. I took Cipro for it and cellulitis was PAINFUL. And this is when I was a younger man.

Great news, nothing like resting in your own home.

I could not even put my foot on the floor, let alone walk on it.
