God Bless their souls.

Today In History

On Feb. 23, 1945, Marines famously raised the U.S. flag on Mount Suribachi, Iwo Jima. One of those Marines was Cpl. Harlon Block of Weslaco, Texas. He was killed in action on March 1, 1945.

Ira Hayes, a Pima Indian helped raise that flag. His life had such a tragic ending. All gave some and some gave all.

We have some OUTSTANDING men and women in our armed services today.

I'll admit though, I sure wish the Average American was more reminiscent of our Greatest Generation at times, myself included.
